A locally-owned family-operated shop that believes in treating people as if they were family

2

My dad and I have been taking our cars there for years with nothing but excellent service. Until, this most recent visit when I needed to have my head gaskets replaced. They quoted me $2500 for the repair and informed me they would call when they got the initial tests done in order to ensure I wanted to proceed with the repair. I was not called after the tests, had to call them 2 days after they told me they would call me. Then, on the day they initially told me my car would be ready I hadn't heard from them so I had to call them back again only to be told it would be an additional 4 days until my car would be ready. Finally, when I picked up my car, after explaining to them my frustrations, the final bill was $2800, $300 higher than the initial quote, which is a significant amount of money on an EMT's low hourly wage. The man's excuse as to why I wasn't called two different times was that they were opening a new location. I have not decided whether I will return after taking my car here exclusively here for 9 years.

The team at Pride Auto Care is top notch. I have been taking my family's cars there for 7 years and I challenge you to find a more honest, fairly priced, done right the first time auto repair facility in town. My family feels safer on the road knowing our cars were serviced at Pride Auto Care..

Brought a vehicle in to this location for a pre purchase inspection bc buyer has used this shop in past, findings from inspection were minimal but some red flags came up when they tried to say the oil was dirty and old, when it was fresh and changed only 400 miles prior. Called shop and they said they notated oil as dirty and black because there was no oil change sticker.... I'd think for a pre purchase inspection that their customer is paying for that they would actually check the dip stick. Some of the items found seemed valid but going to another 3rd party inspection because some of the issues they brought up were false and I personally feel they had personal bias against the brand vehicle being inspected. I would not recommend this shop as it seems like they recommend repairs that are unnecessary.

Dear Alex---we are very sorry you feel as you do. We are blessed with a wonderful reputation and a loyal and happy customer following of nearly 30 years. Nothing we do is false nor misleading nor do we sell what is unnecessary sir. It appears that the story is one-sided and somewhat distorted in this case. Let us help shed some truthful light on this with a more complete rendition of the situation you described regarding the vehicle and service you've publicly brought into question: On Monday May 8th, we performed a pre-purchase inspection for our customer on a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L. The vehicle was brought to us by Alex with Makarov Autos as a courtesy to our client, our customer. We take a lot of pride in our thorough pre-purchase inspection process (we act in our customers' best interest---that's what they are paying us for). These thorough inspections are done so we can give our client a clear picture of the issues and maintenance needs of their potentially used vehicle purchase. During our inspection of this vehicle we found multiple issues that gave us concern. Among other things, there were layers of mud caked all over the bottom of the vehicle. One of the largest concerns had to do with a cylinder head replacement that was completed approximately 7 months and 400 miles ago. Our Carfax Service History Report also showed that this vehicle had also had cylinder head gaskets replaced 19K miles prior. The concern that comes up with major engine repairs is why were they performed and what potential engine longevity issues could be coming up as an affect of the damage this engine has suffered in the past. Thanks to our findings, we we’re able to fully advise our client prior to them purchasing the vehicle. We carry no bias for any vehicle platform nor sales staff selling a vehicle. After being in business for 25 years however, and 4 ASE certified master technicians on staff, we are aware of the common issues associated with nearly all makes and models. Using this knowledge, we make sure our clients are as well informed as possible. As for Mr. Makarov’s concern of us not checking the oil, I can assure this accusation is completely mislead, nor did we ever state that the oil was never changed. We simply shared our concern of the oil quality with the client after being changed only 400 miles prior. Thanks for allowing us this forum to clarify the situation described. We do wish you the best in your future endeavors finding a more suitable automotive shop for your needs. Al Pridemore, Co-owner 303-840-6400

The guys over at Pride Auto Care are amazing! They tried to find every way possible to save me money with an unexpected tire repair. They called and gave me status frequently. Great customer service is a rarity these days.

I love Pride Auto Care!! My Master Brake Cylinder went out a few months ago on the way down from the mountains, and they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix it. A few weeks later, it went out again, and they more than took care of me. I am used to being taken advantage of by mechanics, but I have never had to worry about that with Pride Auto Care. I can trust what they have to say about my vehicle. :) So grateful that I found them!! Also, a small shout out to Ty, who is always around with a smile and positive attitude to brighten up your day!!

Pridemore is owned by Al Pridemore. The service is professional and honest. Twice I took my car in for what I estimated time for brakes (rear), and twice told I did not need them. No push for anything else. The third time was the 4th of March. This time they were needed. This was done, and they politely turned down the annoying news channel while I waited. I have used them in the past for another car also. My son-in-law says of Al says you need it you do. (They were neighbors at one time.
